After you have a general idea of the Fakemon you want to make choose a pose for it. Sketch it in that pose and change it if needed to make it look more how you would like. If you haven't already you should add things to it to make it match its element better. Or maybe just add simple designs and markings to it. The picture should almost always be looking to the left, usually to the left and down.
Note: Not all Pokemon have to have markings or have extra things to match their element but most do.
Example: I have given my Weasel fins to show that it is a water type. They would also help it to swim. I have also given him a simple band design around his waste to make him more unique. He also has a collar just to give a bit more to his unique look.
